On a glorious day about a dozen hashers set off by train to Christchurch for the annual Restaurant Hash ably organised by Hooperman.

An intruder on the railway line delayed us so that we arrived eager for everything that Hooperman had devised for us.

The run around Christchurch was excellent and took us through the shopping area, the Priory, along riverside paths and ended at a great pub where we sat in the sun enjoying Piddle beer. Above middle we see Spreadlegs pointing the way to go.

In accordance with tradition, masses of balloons were given out at the Chinese Restaurant for hats to be made. Unlike previous years, the balloons all got assimilated into one huge balloon hat. We then had the problem of getting this onto the train!

Once on the train everyone - including the other passengers in our coach! - were set to work making animals from sparkly wire. We got almost every sort of animal imaginable from a squid up to a monkey and an elephant. One lady passenger said it was the most fun she had ever had on a train journey. Mind you, she has never been locked in a loo with BOF!

The guard had obviously been watching this on CCTV (Did you know there are more CCTV cameras in Britain per person than anywhere else in the world?) because he came rushing into our carriage. However, he watched us from some distance away as we hung our animals on the light fittings and did not intervene.

However, we wondered if there would be a full police riot squad waiting for us at Weymouth Station! Then off to the Giant Pot to round off a brilliant day!
