To coincide with the closing of the Beijing Olympics Hardy's Hashers joined the celebrations by helping to relay an Olympic Flag to the top of Portland. The Hashers were given the steep hill up from Fortuneswell to run. Unfortunately, it seems that the national and local media ignored this unique symbolic event. The post-flag raising party went on into the evening.
