Hash Diary

It was agreed that the ideal hash run diary would show alternate home and away venues. GTM to give gentle suggestions where necessary to hares. Action GTM.

Dates booked into the diary:

January 24^th – Burns Night Hash

• February 14^th – Valentine Hash
• March 7^th – Hangover Hash as a result of Organgrinder and BOF’s party the night before. Hare Davey Cock-it to be asked to pick a short local hash. Action SCRUBBER.
• March 26^th-28^th – N. Wilts Hash, Chichester. Organgrinder will liaise with those going with further details. Action ORGANGRINDER.
• April 4^th – Easter Hash. Fancy Dress theme, silly hats and games.
• May 2^nd – Restaurant Hash. Sonic is the hare and still to sort out a venue. GTM to chase for more information for website. Action GTM.
• June 2^nd – Thomas Hardy’s official Birthday. Cosy T has noted he wishes to host an appropriate hash to mark the event. However, it is noted that this is the Weds before a Sub60 and then ABO’s cycle weekend. GTM to speak to Cosy T to find out if another date can be found to avoid the clash, the Sunday before was suggested. Action GTM.
• June 4^th-6^th – ABO’S Cycle Weekend. Strawberry Line near Glastonbury.
• July 2^nd-4^th – Interhash. 
• July 18^th – Mystery Hash. Rosie & Nobby are hares.
• July 23^rd-25^th – Lowland Games near Langport. Camping opportunity. Shirtlifter to provide more details to be posted on the web. Action SHIRTLIFTER.
• August 14^th-15th – Banks Arms Music Festival at Studland. GTM to ask Lagerlout for more details on this event and report back. Details of local campsites to be identified. Action GTM.
• September 11^th-12^th – Camping Weekend near Bere Regis. Calculator Kid to contact campsite and identify prices. Prices may depend on school holidays. Action CALCULATOR KID.
• October 10^th – Turkey Hash. Details on Events page in website.
• October 31^st – Halloween Hash.
• November & December – TBC

• Other items to fit into Diary:

1234^th run to be celebrated. Should fall during February formally, but it was agreed to fit this into the diary where necessary.

It was agreed to fit a beach BBQ into the diary during the summer.

Organgrinder noted that more national and international events should be included on the H4 website so hashers are fully advised of all the opportunities. Euro Hash in Amsterdam given as a good example. Post Meeting Note – BOF stated this is already on the website at the top of the Timetable page with link to UK What’s On Page. Will also include on Events Page.

Merry Hen and Gravelrash wish to host an Autumn Walk event. Suggested for mid November. Wellie W to speak find out more details and confirm to GTM.  Action WELLIE W.

Rosie wishes to host a 60’s Night. It was noted that mid April and May are available for the event. It was noted that there were not sufficient Hash funds to cover a band and therefore a DJ is more likely. Rosie to report back with costs and a venue. It was agreed that the event must be self funding. Action CORN ON THE KNOB.

Awards Night

The success of the event last year was noted despite some comments on the cost of the ticket and dress code of black tie. It was agreed that the event was important for the group and should be repeated. Organgrinder to look at the overall event format, venue and dates. It was agreed to approach Meat Free to look at opportunities at The Heights Hotel. It was agreed that £40 ph was an acceptable final cost per head.

Nash Hash 2011

Calculator Kid advised that he wished H4 to host a free bar at the event. He further noted an idea to have a van fitted out with a pull-out bar, in a cave/Jurassic theme, for transportation. H4 to fund the bar. Should any hashers comment on the use of funds for this purpose, they should be advised that all hashers are welcome to attend the event and indeed are able to visit on the day and visit the bar themselves for free. In addition, the H4 bar could be used to promote a major H4 event of its own to be held in 2012. This event could have an Olympic theme.

H4 have been asked, along with other local hash groups, to lay a Saturday and a Sunday run. The Saturday run should be held no more than 1 hour from Hurn Airport and should be no longer than 5 miles. It was agreed that should the Wessex Hash be laying any runs in the Purbeck area, then the Cerne Abbas Giant area would be ideal. The Sunday run to be a shorter run. Wellie W to speak to Beaky at the Wessex Hash to formalise the requirements. Kipper to be approached for the Sub60 to lay the Sunday run. Calculator Kid also noted that he wished to put together a ‘Sod’s Opera’. Action Wellie W and Calculator Kid.

It was agreed that a new H4 shirt be commissioned for the event and sold at the Nash Hash. Organgrinder noted that the purple ‘away’ shirt was very popular and should be repeated. The design to perhaps reflect the bar cave/Jurassic theme.

Non-Hash Social Events

It was noted that a number of hashers wished to use the website and services of the Mis-Management to promote their own social events. It was agreed that a Social Events page be added to the website. Should hashers have events such as quizzes, charity events, etc., to promote, they provide BOF with all the details for the website but promote it themselves. Post Meeting Note – BOF already has an Events page but has now set up a Non Hash Events Page.

Financial

Corn On The Knob noted that once insurance and recently purchased tankards have been paid for, there will be approximately £200 in the float. It was agreed that when the half yearly subs are due for renewal in April, half yearly subs be increased from £12 to £15 and weekly run fees increased from £1 to £1.50. This increase will build up funds for social events for the benefit of all hashers.
