This area is dominated by quarrying activity.

Since this aerial photograph was taken in 1999 the quarry has expanded into neighbouring fields.

A football field existed here between the World Wars but this, like many footpaths and pasture land, has been devoured by the exploitation of Portland Stone.

Pennsylvania Castle lies just outside the top right-hand corner of this picture.

One of the few stone carved animal troughs still not vandalised as photographed in 1990.

This stood in a field to the south of Perryfields Industrial estate which is seen in the background.

Sunset behind the signpost on the corner of Weston Street by Perryfields Industrial Estate.

This is in the extreme upper right-hand corner of the aerial photograph.

Perryfield Works - a small industrial area which was demolished in 2009 for flats to be built on this corner facing Pennsylvania Castle.

Above left and below we see the industral site cleared in 2010. The house on the road junction was still standing in lonely isolation.
