LONDON HOUSE WAS A CLOTHES SHOP OWNED BY MRS KING COMBEN. THE SHOP ON LEFT WAS NEWMAN'S - PRODUCE MERCHANTS  (NOW THE VETS).  MR LUKEY  (MANAGER) , MAUDE LUKEY (HIS SISTER) WAS CASHIER.

SYBIL BEAUMONT, HILDA NORMAN, MR JOHN HOOPER, MR ERIC MITCHELL WERE ASSISTANTS.

JACK GIBBS WAS KNOWN AS THE 'MIDNIGHT GROCER'.  HE USED TO DELIVER THE GROCERY ORDERS AROUND THE ISLAND.  HE WAS THE ONLY MAN ON THE ISLAND (1920'S) WHO HAD A 'C' LICENCE TO COLLECT GOODS FROM WEYMOUTH.
