THIS IS THE SITE WHERE THE RAILWAY TRACK USED TO PASS UNDER AN OLD STONE BRIDGE. THIS WAS DESTROYED BY THE LOCAL QUARRY COMPANY IN DEFIANCE OF PLANNING LAWS AND THE FACT THAT A PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY WENT OVER THE BRIDGE - SUCH WAS THE ARROGANCE AND DISDAIN WITH WHICH THE QUARRYING INDUSTRY OPERATED UNTIL VERY RECENTLY.
