The Royal Manor School lies in the centre of this area with St George's Church just outside the northern boundary.

A large part of this area is taken up with the sprawling housing estate which stretches to Easton Square.

The Portland Sheep Pound which lies just to the east of Weston Street and South of the Royal Manor School.

It was moved to its present position when the nearby housing estate was built.

When work started on a new playing field for the Royal Manor School a large Roman villa complex was discovered. This has been excavated and many interesting discoveries have been made.

The picture above shows the site as first cleared in November 2004 and below with more excavations underway in July 2006.
